This series contains information on foreign policy with regard to Carter administration liaison with the House and Senate. Policy initiatives of the administration are highlighted, as well as the relationship between the administration and the State Department. The material deals significantly with the unsuccessful efforts to secure the passage of the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) treaty and the successful passage of the Panama Canal treaties. Other subjects which have substantial amounts of material are Mid-East arms sales, the lifting of the arms embargo against Turkey, and international monetary policies. There is also limited information on the Iranian hostage crisis, China, or the Egypt-Israeli peace process.
